Head Boy Euan gives an insight into a busy and bruising week as the school leads up to Open Day and begins the sporting season.
Monday 18th September
After school today I helped
out with rugby sessions for the school’s coaching team. It
was interesting to see how much our under 14s an 15s had improved. On Saturday,
they are set to play King Williams College from the Isle of Man. (good luck for
Saturday boys).
Today was my friend Sean O’Sullivan 18 birthday. I gave him some money as a present but he did get some interesting gifts off other people including a toilet plunger!
At break time today I was challenged to a game of air hockey by Jack Belton in year 7. Jack is like a little brother that likes to follow me around so there wasn’t an option to say no to this. I ended up thrashing him 7-2!
Wednesday 20st September
I had to focus on
getting my assignments in today. In the afternoon
we had our first football game of the season.
It was a big game for the school but sadly we lost. Our captain Tomos
Roberts came off with an injury so I filled in and took the armband and enjoyed
the experience a lot.
Thursday 21nd September
Kiani, who is head girl,
and I discussed this upcoming Saturday which is our Open Day. We will be
greeting parents and giving short speeches, I’m excited about it.
During the afternoon we had our first school rugby game. It
was a training match and it was good to be able to wear a St David’s shirt
again for the new season. The highlight for me would have to be getting a huge
lump on my eyebrow knowing I have individual school photos the next day-sorry
mum.
Friday 22rd September
I started off my Friday
with a house assembly with my house Snowdon with a lot of comments saying “nice
eye” from almost everyone especially little Jack Bilton who was there sitting
in the chair in front of me.
The whole school came out for the last practice of the
school cross country, before the final next Wednesday. We run four our houses
and Snowdon won last year.
On Friday evening, I ended my day going out for dinner with
my mum who had travelled all the way from Lincoln. We went to Dylan’s in
Llandudno, it was nice to see her but I don’t think she was too impressed
seeing my black eye.
